Russia’s economy is main based on production. Its most exported products are cobalt, chrome, copper, gold, lead, manganese, nickel, platinum, tungsten, vanadium, and zinc (Britannica, w/d). Russia’s income also comes from oil and natural gas exports. In 2021 Russia made more trades with China, but usually its main trade partners are Germany, the United States, Belarus, Ukraine, and China. (Britannica w/d). During the 21^st century Russia and the USA were involved in war after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Following the invasion, Russia’s economy went down by 2.1% in 2022. The war is putting Russia’s economy under considerable damage and economic strain contributing to increasing inflation, and a tough job market due to the lack of available workers. (Lyngaas R, 2023) the United States imposed economic sanctions to make it harder for Russia to get high-tech components to use during war. On the other hand, the invasion of Ukraine has affected the economics all over the world, especially the post pandemic recovery.

The US is fighting with Russia for the artic. This is because they need to be prepared for what the future threats of the climate change has, and they´re not prepared enough, because they see Alaska as their main place to extract natural resources but it´s not the same as the artic. The main reason they don´t want to extract natural resources from the artic is because they dont want to risk a nuclear war in the artic. For the last 20 years, Russia has been the one who is caring and dominating this fight the most,

they´ve been developing more operations to extract more resources from the artic, so the US is not prepared.

In this region, Russia has many pro-russians, and that´s why they wanted to take that region, to try and influence in their decisions. Because of this Ukraine is applying for membership of the NATO. NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and was formed in 1949 by 12 countries, including the US. Its aim was to slow and block down the Soviet expansion. It now has 32 members, but the question is this, will Ukraine join the NATO?
