Today I arrived at Ellis Island. I was so overwhelmed! I do not speak English very well, but thankfully they had an interpreter in my interview! I was so afraid me and my family would be separated, but we all made it through. We are officially in New York, now the real work begins!

I came to Ellis Island and these people held me there for weeks and fed me occasionally. I was so confused then they finally took me into interrogation. I was asked 157 questions and answered all of them. After 5 hours we were done. A day later they sent me off on a ship to Manhattan where I would start my new life.

I arrived at an island. I was petrified and confused about what to do. I did not speak their language and did not know what they wanted. I was asked multiple questions. Finally, after a few weeks, I was put on a ship and arrived in an unknown place. I would start a new and better life for myself and my family in this unknown place.

I arrived at the Ellis Island. My English not best cause I from Bulgaria. Many try escape Europe cause World war. Many days to get here. American place scary. I was asked lot of question. I pulled up to Eliis Island and they asked me and multiple other people questions, they'd feed me sometimes. They changed my name because they didn't know how to say my actual name, the wealthy people got to go in to the United states early.

When I first arrived I didn't know what to do or where to go but then some people came and took me for a test. I thought I was being captured cause the war still scared me and I didn't have the best English either so I couldn't understand anyone, but when they were just taking me to an island so I just went with it and that was that.

I arrived at Ellis Island, I wasn't rich enough to skip it. I was asked multiple questions about myself. The people there couldn't say my name so they changed it. Once the test had finished I was shipped off. There I would be able to live the "American dream".
