The Centre's election slogan is "Forward – responsibility for all of Finland!”. The Centre has often been seen as a rural party, as it clearly represents the voice of the countryside and villages.

Among other issues, the Centre is campaigning for dual residency, which would allow people to be registered in two municipalities at the same time. Finland's self-sufficiency in energy and food production are also important issues for the party.

In Parliament, the party is, as its name suggests, in the centre. The party has politicians from both sides of the political spectrum and balances liberal and conservative values.

The campaign slogan of the National Coalition Party (NCP) is: "Now is the time to roll up our sleeves and get to work." This refers to a balancing of public finances, in which the party puts more emphasis on cost-cutting than tax increases. In this sense, the NCP's policies differ from those of the left-leaning parties.

The NCP has put forward concrete items on which it would make cut spending during the next parliamentary term. The party aims to save money in areas such as income-related unemployment benefits, housing allowances and business subsidies. The party has also drawn up a list of areas where it would not make cuts: education, security and the judiciary. The party also proposes income tax cuts for all.

The NCP is seen as a right-leaning party in which liberal values and conservatism go hand in hand. This was most recently the case in the vote on the trans law, where the party's MPs were divided.

Over the past decades, the NCP has frequently been a government party, which it is now aims to be again after one term in the opposition.
