Ever since I can remember I was playing some type of sport, but the one that stuck with me was basketball. When I was younger I would attend my sisters' games and keep the book for her team. I would keep track of fouls, points, timeouts, etc. I actually had the chance to continue my basketball career in college but decided that it was time to hang up the laces and focus on school.

One of the first books, I first ever read was Wenny has Wings. I had it checked out of the library for the entire school year because I kept reading it over and over again. I saw my sister reading it and she couldn't stop raving about it, so when I was in Elementary school I read this book and it was definitely not meant for my age range but since I had this older role model I got to experience it earlier.

Growing up, I listened to the classic music. My grandma would play Queen every time we would get in her car. My Dad also played the metal music in car when I was younger. I grew up on Motely Crue, Poison, Ratt, Iron Maiden, you name it I was listening to it by the age of 3. Queen stuck out to me the most, my grandma has the greatest hits album and it has all the lyrics to the songs in it and as a kid I wanted to know the lyrics to Fat Bottom Girls and by Elementary School I knew all the words.

My older sister has been my best friend since day 1. She has introduced me to many books, music, and so much more. My sister and I are 22 months apart and that may not seem very close but it is. I always wanted to be like her, I would read the books she did (Wenny), listen to the music she did even if it wasn't appropriate for my age yet, I would watch the same tv shows as her as well. I wouldn't be the person who I am today without her.

Every thing that is important happens in this one. My grandma had every single Harry Potter book and I finished the entire series by the time I entered middle school. This one in particular was the Harry Potter book I kept reading over and over again.

My Dad was my basketball coach up until middle school, and has showed me all of these classic movies. This movie in particular stuck out to me the most and is the best sports movie ever made.

I grew up in a family where we watched Indy Car every Sunday like it was the NFL. When it was the Indy 500, we were either up early in the morning or roading tripping to Indianapolis to see it in person. As I kid we would go all the time to the Kansas Speedway and the first thing I would want is to track my favorite racer on the scanner. We would be given this card with all the drivers on it and as a game I would memorize the car numbers, where they are from, and who sponsored each driver.

In my early years of Elementary School I couldn't wait for Library day. My school rule was that you must get at least one book with words if you were getting an iSpy book as well. I remember one time I was super sick and shouldn't have went to school but it was library day and I was waiting for it all week because I wanted to get this new iSpy book. I went to school, got the book, and then got sent home because I had a fever of 101.

I loved reading these as a family and the tv specials that came with it weren't that bad either. They don't make the comics like they used to.

Some of the first movies that I remember watching with my parents, especially my mom was the classic 80's movies. She showed us the Breakfast Club, Saint Elmo's Fire, The Outsiders, Sixteen Candles, etc. I would turn the closed captions on for this movie in particular because I wanted to impress her for knowing the quotable lines from it and now we quote this movie at home all the time.
