There were a few people in Ryan's life that could be considered enablers. His grandfather who Ryan lives with who in a way to limit how much he inhales in one sitting splits his bottles in half which is still giving him something and somewhere to indulge in these negative behaviors.

In the video we saw how having a withdraw looked on Ryan he was very desperate and on the edge. He expressed how until he got a drink everything was going bad. The withdraw made him seem very anxious.

A lot of people with substance abuse are always looking for a way to get said substance by manipulating,begging, stealing,etc. They do these things to friends,family or strangers. They sometimes react in anger and violence.
