Elvis also brought rock and roll widely into the mainstream of popular culture. Presley popularized rockabilly, a genre that combined country with rhythm and blues which some claimed it was a new sound. Elvis became the biggest pop craze since Glenn Miller and Frank Sinatra. </div>]]></description>

Young Brits started to turn away from their parents and the British tradition, creating their own cultural expression. The phenomenon of youth subculture and consumerism started quite early but peaked around the 1950’s, when economic, social and cultural developments provided the perfect environment. Influenced by American culture (rock'n'roll and hollywood movies) the British teenagers created their own world, a world of music and motorcycles, of freedom and entertainment.<br><br></div>]]></description>
