The Hutu extremists got into Zaire and started to 🤬 Tutsis in eastern Zaire. This lasted for one year, from 1996-1997. The impact of the conflict was the name change of the country by the new president after the war, after the old one went into exile in Morocco. The conflict has been resolved, as the war has ended and there is a new president. Surrounding countries got involved, like Rwanda, Burundi, and Angola.
