The styles of language both presenters use is very clear language. The speak loud and clear and also speak at a medium pace so they sound happy and upbeat about the job. They always seem happy and interested in doing their job. When they interview artists they speak a bit slower so the audience and the artist can understand what they are talking about. The language is also very vibrant and they seem genuinely happy to be live presenting. Big Top 40's strong connection with its audience is through music. An appointment to listen show and people stay tuned for an average of half the show. Its fast paced, music based and up-to-the-minute as downloads can change the chart in real time.

The target audience for the Big top 40 is between the ages 16-34. I think this is the age range because students will listen to music whilst they study and the type of music they play the ages iv chosen tend to listen to as it is more of a young genre type of music. The main sex of the show I think will be both because anybody can listen to music and it doesn't matter what gender you are for the type of music you listen to. The location to listen to this radio is all across the UK and is broadcasted on various different shows. The vodafone big top 40 airs from London. The class of the show is middle class because people can listen to it from home or in their cars or at work.

The techniques used in this show appeal to the audience is the fact they are always happy whilst on air. They have a jingle that plays before the show begins and that plays during intervals and this is done so that the people who have just started listening to the radio will now know what they are going to be listening to. They also have various celebrity guests that they ring on air and they talk to them about their new music. They have adverts during the show because they need people that sponsor it. The presenter style is very clear and it feels like they are having a conversation with the audience.

How does Leona's delivery differ to Nick Grimshaw's? Give examples of accent? Use of words? Topics of conversation?

Leona's delivery is a lot different compared to Nick Grimshaw's. Leona is monotonous and speaks slowly unlike Nick Grimshaw who speaks upbeat and fast. Leona is a lot more serious in her speech and puts on a radio voice. It all seems a bit fake and put on whereas Nick is chatty and more enthusiastic with the way he comes across when he talks. The topics of conversations are also really different. On Nick Grimshaw's show they speak about random topics and also discuss the brit awards from the night before and how they all got drunk whereas on absolute radio she is just interviewing him and you get lost a bit about what they are discussing because of how boring and slow it is. Nick Grimshaw has more of an accent as he is originally from Manchester/ Oldham but recently moved to London for his radio job. Leona however has a really slow boring voice , some might find it better though as it might make them relaxed.

Adam Clayton from U2 is being interviewed by Leona. He differs from the guest on BBC Radio 1 as he doesn't really have a laugh and he doesn't take about anything other than his music. They both don't seem comfortable with each other unlike Rita and Nick who both have a laugh and talk about personal stuff and laugh about how they both got drunk the night before. They are a lot more friendly with each-other and seem to have a lot more of communication.

They could walk round humming and singing to their favorite tunes and they might even be able to relate to what the host is talking about. I think it is a good idea because it helps take peoples minds of the real life and stops them stressing whilst they are doing a big shop. Music tends to calm the mind and I believe ASDA have their own radio station for this exact reason; to keep their customers calm and happy.

No repeat guarantee means that they are saying to the listeners they wont keep repeating the same songs every hour they will play different songs because most radio stations such as capital and heart FM constantly repeat the same songs. So saying " no repeat guarantee" is important because it will make the listeners want to carry on listening because then they know that they wont have to hear the same song more than once.
