To light up my photographs I used daylight. 
2. There's a difference between f/1.8 and f/8. F/1.8 is more wide and f/8 is smaller. I prefer f/1.8. 
3. I learned that in food photography you need to make sure that the food is fresh. You need to focus on the quality of light and it requires a shallow depth of field.
