Being a rock solid teacher is being able to asses ALL your students formally and informally and use that to give yourself feedback as well as your students so you can share that within their family, campus etc and using that data to determine how to further your instruction.

As we move from proficient to the left of the spectrum for mastery, I noticed that being able to incorporate data from assessments into lessons is key for guiding lesson plans. As we move further to accomplished level I noticed that applying data and being able to share with colleagues is critical for campus wide success and implementation. Analysis of data must also be reflected in the classroom and strategies used. -Sofia

Proficient teacher does what is expected of them, implements formative and summative assessments, monitors progress of ALL students, provides CONSISTENT feedback, and uses data to guide their instruction. To move to the left, we must create a STUDENT-CENTERED classroom, where they are in charge of their own learning, and teacher guides instruction through data, reflects on the data, and provides specific and timely feedback to students so that they can self-assess.

For a teacher to go from proficient to accomplished she must incorporate data from assessments into lesson plans. The teacher must also provide specific and timely feedback on the growth of students to students, families, and school personel while maintaing confidientiality. She must also used analyzed data to reflect on own teaching and teaching strategies and behavior. Lastly, the teacher must also collaborate with colleagues to meet students needs.
