"My father did not hesitate, and immediately went to Italy, that he might accompany the little Elizabeth to her future home" (Page 25). - Victor Frankenstein

Victor's dad, Alphonse, had no hesitation to take all responsibility for his sister's infant. He took on the role of her father, raising and taking care of the baby upon his sister's death, which shows his sense of responsibility and caring for his family.

"I was at first tempted to write only a few lines, merely mentioning the day on which I shoukd expect you. But that would be a cruel kindness, and I dare not do it" (Shelley 60). Alphonse Frankenstein feels a parental responsibility to tell Victor the whole truth. He later states that he won't sugar coat the William's death, and that he won't comfort him. Though he might tell Victor the truth, he won't try and comfort him as a dad, and this might have unintentioally taught Victor to be rude and distasteful towards his own creation. He only gives Victor some surface level comfort by telling him his brother is dead, but he doesn't try to help him.

"I could not be mistaken... the filthy daemon to whom I had given life. What did he there? Could he be (I shuddered at the conception) the murderer of my brother?" (Shelley 65)

Victor Frankenstein created what he sees to be an abhorrent monster. Even though he played god and created life, but he treats it like Satan himself. He abandons his creature and all responsibility he had with it, and even when he sees it again he immediately accuses it of murder. He doesn't even give it a second thought when he sees him, and immediately assumes he's the murderer.
