Some things I learned/found interesting while reading this article:

-Product sampling is great for making customers loyal to brands and stores over time.

-The samples also help remind you of the taste of a specific product and inflict a desire to have it.

- When a demo table is unattended people when going to eat the samples don't feel as pressured to purchase the item. But when the demo table has service surveillance shoppers feel the need to purchase the item, feeling guilt from social pressure.

- The samples also give people something to look forward to when going shopping at a place, knowing they can try new food.

-Whenever a food product is put out as a sample the rates of purchasing that item go up. For example frozen pizza samples made the sales go up by 600 percent.

1). The psychology behind samples is something called the Principle of Reciprocity. Samples are examples of reciprocity because it gives people a guilty feeling of eating all these samples for free and leaving which makes the person feel extremely guilty. This is trick companies use to manipulate the customer to buy something that they tried, that trick was so successful for the companies that it boosted the sales by 2,000 percent!

2.) After people have samples, they develop a sort of craving for more because they have tried something new and want more and more of it, this is how sales get boosted and companies easily make money which will make them successful. It is also told that there is a comparison between people that have eaten samples and people who have not, people that have not eaten samples are most likely to graduate at a higher percentage than people that do eat samples.
