Computer Science- the new hype for gen-Z?

The increase in computer science majors across the U.S. in the last decade has almost been exponential. Computer Science has almost become the new and the most "hyped" major across all of genZ and is the fastest-growing undergraduate major. Universities are investing heavily in the computer science department so that they can market the computer science program to leverage and acquire more students. This increase in CS majors has also faced backlash and are being accused of taking away jobs from people who genuinely love the field of computer science. So naturally the questions that arise are:-

What caused this increase in computer science majors over the last decade?

A huge amount of people who are currently working in tech are "only doing it for the money", are the people who genuinely love the field affected by it in any way?

The onset of the coronavirus was a great opportunity for the majority of tech companies to provide more services and capitalize on the opportunity, as people were relying on them for work, education, and entertainment. In order to implement their plans in an extremely short amount of time they needed a huge amount of software engineers/developers, which caused this uptick in the demand of tech jobs during the lockdown period.

People who genuinely love the field, always have a dream of working at MAANG companies, but can't because of simply so many people applying there and making it extremely hard to stand out.

Students get extending offers to many students to return as full-time employees after graduation which shows demand
Between 2021 and 2031, employment for software developers and testers is expected to grow 25 percent.
paying some computer science students nearly $30,000 for the summer, not including housing stipends

Are Good Jobs in tech still available?

Others are seeking tech jobs outside the industry, with retailers like Walmart or with government agencies and nonprofits.
Not generally as high paying.
The high-paying jobs are now in some industries such as the automobile industry, which still requires good workers.

People still having a hard time getting jobs even after being extremely academically qualified.

People going to prestigious colleges such as CMU are still being rejected.
Too many well qualified people are applying for the same job along with other.
An extreme number of applicants everywhere.

Are the people who don't have a passion for computer science but still work in the industry better contributors to the industry than those who do?

250 words analysis about the mindmap

This topic is definitely one that is really close to my heart. As someone who has worked in this industry for a decent amount of time as a young adult, I take matters regarding the field of computer science very seriously. The field of computer science is what gave me my friends, opportunities, resources, and mentors. If I hadn’t explored it, then I would never be in that position, and would never know what I want to do in my life, and I would not have a path that I would be able to follow to better myself. The social aspect of computer science, the community, and the ability to create something that a lot of people will use gives me a sense of responsibility and respect which makes me feel proud of myself. One of the reasons I chose this topic was to bring awareness to the problem of the abundance of software workers in the field. This skewed increase in the field of computer science is indirectly harming society in numerous watts, such as not encouraging people to join majors that actually need more professionals such as nursing and medicine. Learning about this topic along with proof and evidence was definitely much more fun as I could understand the direct correlation between the majors and the timeline. I would want to learn more about the theoretical aspect of the questions, and potentially get the answers to the interpretive questions. The idea of creating a main was good and creative, but I needed more time to understand what a good mindmap consists of, and I’m still not sure if the one I made is good enough.

Abundance in the wrong places.

The opportunity to create great money, with a relatively small amount of professional training time, is creating an abundance of Computer Science majors. This in turn is harming the people by not being able to get them into more necessary and important majors such as nursing or medicine. This lack of incentive is what is becoming such a crisis for the American Education system to manage.
