1.     Samuel & older boys picked up some bad habits - shaming other boys & spitting on the field
 2. Mr Pang is trying to correct the team's behavior.
 3. Samuel & friends were disappointed during the national

 5. The boys do not have the trust and respect for Mr Pang and
the Coach.

Students had been taught the topics of ‘Disappointments’ and ‘Managing Disappointments’ but did not manage to apply what they have learnt. Mr Pang might want to link the Football incident back to the CCE topics in the classroom. This will help students understand how to put into practice what they have learnt.
 
2. To work sportsmanship and handling success/failures into the CCA’s 30-week plan.
 
3. To have a more concrete student leadership model that informs student leaders/senior members the responsibilities expected of them, e.g. being role models.

2.       Mr Pang should speak separately to Samuel first to address his behavior- shaming and poor sportsmanship 
3.       Mr Pang should address the coach separately to reiterate the use of positive language during training. Mr Pang should also encourage the coach to role model to the students. 
4.       Mr Pang should conduct some motivational sessions for the boys (both senior and junior) to teach them values on sportsmanship
a.       Samuel may be empowered to share his learning from this incident with the team. 
b.       Conduct sports camp to build team spirits.

  • Facilitate discussion to help them identify and share their feelings/emotions; some of the ways to do so:
     
    • Circle Time Reflection
    • Using CCE Facilitation Kit - e.g. picture cards (teacher should select some for them first rather than simply using all 70)
    • Line Continuum

    • After discussing the emotions, to help them to do the reframing, writing down how they could have thought of it more positively
    • Put in routine for Stop Think Do - whatever they are doing, to stop and think what they should do. Ask themselves questions. 
    • To identify each players’ strengths and how they can improve their performance by leveraging the strengths
