İşte bu yazımda bu konuya değineceğim.

Türkiye'de uzun yıllar kız çocukları okula gönderilmek yerine evde, abisine, babasına ya da herhangi bir büyüğüne hizmet etmesi için veyahut temizlik, tarla sürme gibi işlerle uğraşması için tutuluyordu. Keza ereklerde belli bir yaştan sonra okuldan alınıp işe veriliyordu ancak en azından okuma-yazma öğrenmiş oluyorlardı.  Ancak kızların böyle bir fırsatı olmuyordu.  Şu an bu durum olabildiğince engellenmiş olsa da hâla imza dahi atamadığı için parmak izi kullanan bireylerle karşılaşabiliyoruz. Kendileri de bu durumdan memnun değil ama biz liselilerin bilmediği 'onların zamanı'nındaki aile baskısı, eğitime olan önemin azlığı bu sonuçları doğurdu. 

Günümüzde ise biraz daha modern sorunlar ile uğraşıyoruz. Yapılan düzenlemeler sonunca kırsal kesime kıyasla okula gitmeyen kız sayısı şehirdekinden daha fazla. Ama günümüzün şartları doğrultusunda aileler tarafından temel olarak istenen amaç şu cümle ile özetlenebiliyor. "Oku, kendi ayaklarının üzerinde dur ve kimseye muhtaç olma." Bunlar elbetteki iyi şeyler ama bu durum okumayı bir hayatta kalma zorunluluğu olarak yönlendiriyor. Kesimsel bakımdan okul hayatına bakarsak eğer, okul öncesi eğitimde kızlar oldukça baskın ve rahat olabiliyor. Erkekler o zamanlar yapısal  ve zarar verme düşüncesi ölçüsü bakımından en az kendileri kadar küçükler. İlk okulda ise işler biraz değişiyor. Yıl geçtikçe kız-erkek ayrımı güçleniyor. Kızlar arasında gruplar oluyor ve gruba katılanlar kadar katılamayanlarda oldukça çok oluyor. Dışlanma ve genel güzellik algısı arasındaki farkındalıklar daha fazla su yüzeyine çıkmaya başlıyor. Daha durgun, kibar ve uslu olunmaları bekleniyor. Kabullenişin zor aşamaları ile birlikte ergenlik denen kısma giriliyor. Okul çekilmez-zor ve katlanılması gereken bir çok sorunun olduğu yere dönüşüyor. Başarından çok görüntün ile ilgili aldığın yorumlar, her ne kadar düşünce özgürlüğü olsada rahatça konuşamadığın onlarca aşağılama, erkeklerin 'şaka' diye nitelendirip ortantısız güç onunlarına mecburi olarak alet edilme gibi bir çok etmen de bunu destekliyor. Bunun yanında ev-okul arasındaki güvensizlikte var. Okuldan arkadaşımla buluşacağım dedikten sonra bir açıklama bekleniyor. Erkekler ise her zaman daha rahat oluyorlar. Hatta öyle rahatlar ki kendi ergenlik sorunsallarını umursamadan kızları kalıplara yerleştirip küçük dünyalarında büyük aşklar yaşamayı deniyorlar. Döngü gibi akıp gidiyor. Böyle olmaması gerekiyor. Cinsiyet, her şey değildir. Cinsiyet, okumaya engel değildir. Cinsiyet, söz hakkı almaya engel değildir. Cinsiyet, kalıplara sığdırılmak değildir. 

Cinsiyet sadece gendir. Fazlası değil.

The disadvantages of the girls start at a long time before they start to school. As they are not going to school yet, what kind of a problem they would actually have?

You see, in this presentation of mine I'm going to touch this point.

In Turkey, the little girls were got to serve their brothers, their fathers, a relative of them etc. or they were got to make some things like chores and harvesting. When we think of the boys, coming to a specific ideal age, they were got out of school and were made recruited by their families but at least they had known how to read and write. However the girls hadn't had an opportunity like that. Though this issue is prevented as much as possible today we still can encounter with some people uses fingerprint system due to the fact that they can't even sign a piece of paper. Either themselves are not satisfied with this fact but the family pressure and the lack of interest on education they had at their era, which we high school students don't know, made this emerged.

Nowadays we're struggling with a little more modern problems. As a result of some arrangements, the number of the girls living in cities is higher than the number of the girls don't go to school in rural areas exactly. But what families want can come to a conclusion with this single sentence while looking at out daily life conditions: "Study, stand on your own feet and don't beg from someone." They are certainly good things but this issue shows us that studying is just a way to survive. Thinking just partly about the school life, at pre-school period girls can be quite dominant and so easy-relaxed. Meanwhile boys, as you can guess, with their tendency to upset or break the others are as smallest as themselves. I mean they lack of maturity even at that age. But some things start to change day by day. Discrimination between girls and boys are getting stronger as the years passing fast. There come many groups among girls, of course there are also the ones can't join them. There slowly start to appear everyone's awareness of discrimination and the sense of beauty. Adult people wait from the kids to be calmer, kinder and less naughty. While the hard times of acceptance going on kids meet the puberty. School transforms into a place that is found unbearable, hard, needed to bear and many problems occuring at the same time. Many reasons like the comments that you get about your visuality more than your success, the insults that you can't protect yourself from although there is a right of expressing your thoughts, the power shows that boys say they are "only jokes" aims directly them are providing it. Besides, there is also insecurity between home and school. After kids saying "I'll meet up with my friend" their family always wants an explanation from them. Boys are always more relaxed though. Even theh are such relaxed that not caring about their own problems of puberty, they make the girls complied with some patterns and try to have big loves in their small worlds. It's going like this on and on. Gender is not our everything. Gender is not an obstacle to have the right of expression. Gender is not patterns.

Gender is just a stem. Not much longer.

          Görüyoruz ki günümüzde şiddet, hatta kadına şiddet epeyce artmaya başladı. Bir erkek olarak bu olaylar beni utandırıyor. Bir kadının ve bir erkeğin aynı şartlar altında yaşaması gerektiğini destekleyenlerdenim. 

        Her gün bir endişeyle uyandığınızı düşünün. Ne kadar kötü değil mi? Her ne kadar bu kötülüğü, şiddeti yapanlar hemcinslerim olsa da sonuna kadar şiddete karşıyım ve kınıyorum. Kadın ve erkeğin eşit olması çok zor bir şeymiş demek ki. Bunu hala başaramıyoruz. Her şeyin başı empati ve saygıdır. Bunu hep söylerim. Geçenlerde sınıfta bu konu ile ilgili tartışıyorduk arkadaşlarla. Herkes ortaya bir fikir sundu. Ortak bir nokta bulduk ve herkes aynı şeyi savundu. Şiddet çözüm değil! Bir erkek bugün yolda rahatça yürüyebiliyorsa bir kadında rahatça yolda yürüyebilmeli. Kadınlarımızı korumalıyız. Onların başına gelen annemizin ya da kız kardeşimizin başına gelebilir. Bunları düşünsek dünya güzelleşecek aslında. Dünyayı iyilik kurtaracak. Mesela bir erkek ev işi yapabilir. Ya da bir kadın araba tamir edebilir. Bunlar eğer bugün tuhaf görünüyorsa önyargıdır. Hayatta her şeyi düşünmek gerekiyor. Bir erkek o işi başarırsa kadında başarır. Bir kadın o işi başarıyorsa erkekte başarır.

GENDER EQUALITY
         We see that today, violence, even violence against women has started to increase quite a bit. As a man, these things embarrass me. I'm one of the supporters that a woman and a man should live under the same conditions. 

        Imagine waking up with a worry every day. How bad is it, isn't it? I am against violence until the end, and I condemn this evil and violence. It's hard for a man and a woman to be equal. We still can't. The head of everything is empathy and respect. I have always said this. I was discussing this topic recently in class with friends. Everyone has an idea. We found one thing in common, and everybody defended the same thing. Violence is not a solution! If a man can walk comfortably on the road today, a woman should be able to walk comfortably on the road. We must protect our women. What happened to them could happen to our mother or sister. The world is going to get better if we think about it. Good will save the world. For example, a man can do housework. Or a woman can fix a car. This is prejudice if it looks strange today. You have to think about everything in life. If a man does it, he does it. If a woman does it, she does it.


      You must remember that a woman brought us to the world. And we shouldn't forget that everyone in the world must be equal. The world isn't just mine or yours. The world is ours. The world is all of us. Everyone should live on the same conditions. Long live equality of men and women!
