I come from…

An old coal mining community…

Where anything or anyone different caused raised eyebrows…

Having ‘different’ friends meant discrimination by association before the term was invented…

Being ‘different’ or ‘not normal’ meant your voice wasn’t heard…

What is normal anyway???

I love the North East, its people and the place, generally it’s a pretty friendly part of the UK and the community I grew up in 30 years ago, is more diverse and thankfully more tolerant and caring towards people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds than it ever was.
