Growing up, my mother has always been addicted to buying sculptures and one thing I know about sculpture is that it is very solid because of the material and that every sculpture has motion that it follows.

Every sculpture has different movements that shows because it depends on the story that they represent. For example in the sculpture of David, there is a movement of his eyebrows, meaning that he was contemplating. In result to the movement of his eyebrows, we already know the meaning of it.

I learned that sculpture is considered to be a fine art when it shows the imitating of real living forms, expressing ideas and feelings and imitating the real world. It is also to be considered as a fine art because time and space can be seen in sculptures and they are related. You need time in space to understand the beauty of the sculpture.

It is also considered to be as a fine art where the air surrounds the solid sculpture and defines the edges of the sculpture. Lastly the final purpose of sculpture as a fine art is beauty and every sculptor’s aim is to create a sculpture that will possess beauty meaning that the beauty is God because He is the perfect beauty. This can be seen in David and The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa.
