This school has it all! But I won't bore you with my dreams of state but instead tell you about my summer experience. I was accepted into their summer STEP program and got to live on campus for a week while living out my major. And I LOVE fashion so my group (pictured below) was tasked with refashioning a garment and then putting on a runway show. I am pictured in the color blocked red and purple shirt and shorts. I have been playing lacrosse for 10 years now and have had the privilege of being on my high school's varsity team for all four years. I have met so many great people through my sport and have learned important life lessons. I love my team and put together all of our team events; whether it was last years senior night, pulling together ribbons for charity games, or making sure that everyone has a ride to practice. All day everyday I get paid to do arts and crafts! Like what can be better than that! The kids are fantastic and more talented than they know and I love displaying their works of art. Pictured here are some caligraphed light houses that they made out of foam board and stuck onto a black cardboard backing. The south has its ups and downs but I definitely miss certain aspects of the north. For example, THERE ARE NO BAKERIES HERE!!!! What is that?! Also, good bagels are few and hard to come by. As well as the topic of pizza. Nothing, and I mean nothing, beats northern pizza. Here in the south someone's idea of "real" pizza is along the lines of Papa Jon's or Domino's.
