Abrams explains and provides evidence that the American dream is very much alive and well. In this article he begins with saying 41% of Americans explaining that the american dream is possible are already living theirs and another 41% that agree are in the process. Only 18% of American's say that they are out of reach to accomplish that goal. He explains that almost 100% of American's that have met their goal/dream worked very hard to accomplish that, meaning nothing comes to someone easy, everything in life you will have to work for if you truly want it. Motivation is key, and nothing is impossible when you have it. Although some people had a head start or an advantage in life doesn't mean starting from the bottom would change anything in the long run. - her reply: "my american dream was to have a family and have a career in music or acting, then shifted to working with kids and being financially comfortable" 

Then I asked her what her American dream is today?
-her reply "my american dream today is to own my own business in my field of expertise, to own a home, to travel and to live comfortably" 

Then I asked if she thinks she has accomplished her American dream yet? And if so why?
-her reply: "partially, because i don't own a home yet and i can not afford to travel yet, and i think that's because i prioritized raising my children and creating a strong family bond before reaching my dreams i had for myself" 

Who and what inspired you to want to follow your american dream?
-her reply: "my experiences with kid's and strong female role models, 3 aunts a mother and a grandmother."
Lastly, I asked if she thought the American dream was alive and well today?

This book is also a perfect example from people who started from the bottom and had nothing but hope and motivation. In this book Reyna and her siblings grow up with not much of a mother or father figure in their life. Their living situation was horrible, they were very poor, got treated like dogs, and were raised with no sympathy or anyone to guide them in the right track. After years and years of abuse they decided that they deserved a better life in all. They ended up traveling to California, catching up with their biological parents, attend the right schooling method, making friends and accomplishing their goal, which was to live a healthy stress free life with if not both then at least one of their parents. No one said doing what they had to go through to meet their American dream was simple, it was hard... very hard.
