- I felt bad for Mary because whatever she did, someone would suffer. If she didn't speak up, she might have to spend the rest of her life in prison and the state would take her baby away. Because she spoke up, her mom is going to have to spend the rest of her life in prison.
- I felt really bad for Mary at times because Ms. Stein and Reba should have been helping keep Mary (and all of the other girls) safe. The first reason Allegedly is a window for me is Mary has been in prison for the last 7 years and she is now living in a group home. I do not know what this experience is like. In addition, Mary is pregnant. I do not know what this is like. Finally, Mary has to go to court so that she can fight to prove that she is innocent. I do not know what this experience is like either.  Because of these examples and many others, the book Allegedly, by Tiffany D.
