This week’s Usrah on the Six Pillars of Iman reminded me that faith is more than just belief. it’s a guide for living. Each pillar holds a lesson that trusting Allah brings peace, angels remind us our deeds are recorded, scriptures guide us, prophets inspire us, the Day of Judgement keeps us accountable, and Qada’ and Qadr teach patience and trust. It felt like a gentle reminder to live with purpose, hope, and responsibility.

I felt comfort knowing that Allah’s plan is always wiser than mine, and every trial carries a hidden blessing.

This first week of Usrah felt really light and welcoming. We’re having a Ta’aruf session and spent time getting to know each other better, and it was fun to have a Quizizz session about our personal information. It made introductions less formal and more interactive. I enjoyed learning little details about my classmates while sharing mine too. What stood out the most was the safe and peaceful atmosphere in class. Our Usrah assistant made it easy to feel comfortable, and I appreciated how everyone was open and respectful. Overall, this first week gave me hope that Usrah will not only be a place of learning, but also a place to build meaningful connections.

I had the chance to present my part on the Best Way to Learn Quran, and while preparing and sharing, I actually understood it more deeply myself. Simple reminders like setting sincere intentions, starting with Tajweed, using translations, and being consistent really stuck with me.

I also enjoyed listening to my friends’ presentations because each of us highlighted different aspects of the Quran’s guidance. Altogether, it reminded me that the Quran is not only to be read, but to be lived with sincerity and effort. The session gave me more motivation to improve my relationship with the Quran in small but steady steps.

From Ihsan, I understood that it means doing everything sincerely as if Allah is always watching, and I’ll try to apply it in my daily life. I also enjoyed the short action or drama of the other group members showing good and bad actions towards parents. It really made me reflect on how I treat mine. We also learned about Eschatology, which reminded me about the Hereafter and that every small action will be rewarded or punished. InshaAllah, I’ll keep striving to do good with Ihsan and stay mindful of the Akhirah.

Our usrah assistant was really kind and supportive, and I could see she tried her best even though it was her first time leading us.

SUMMARY

Our roleplay video talked about wudu, tayammum, salah, and khusyuk. We showed how to do wudu and why it is important before praying. We also explained tayammum and when we can use it if there is no water. Then we shared the key parts of salah that we must do properly. Lastly, we explained khusyuk, which means praying with focus and a calm heart, and how to avoid distractions during prayer.

We did a roleplay activity with 4 casts, where each person represented one topic. It was a fun but meaningful way to learn because we didn’t just listen , we had to act out the concepts clearly. Each cast focused on a different topic: wudu, tayammum, salah, and khusyuk. Through the roleplay, we showed the correct steps and common mistakes, and we also highlighted the deeper purpose behind each practice. I personally found it helpful because watching and acting made the lessons feel more real and easier to remember, especially how good preparation (wudu or tayammum) connects to a better quality of prayer, and how khusyuk is something we can train with intention and focus. Overall, the roleplay made the session more engaging, interactive, and impactful.

Today’s usrah session helped me understand zakah in a more meaningful way. We discussed the definition of zakah, and I realised it is not just giving money, but an act of worship that purifies our wealth and trains our heart to be less attached to dunya. We also touched on the commandments of zakah, which reminded me that it is a clear obligation for Muslims who meet the conditions, and it reflects our obedience to Allah.

We then learned the difference between zakah and sadaqah. Zakah is compulsory with specific rules and recipients, while sadaqah is voluntary and can be given anytime. What I found most impactful was how tawakkul relates to zakah, because paying zakah requires trusting that Allah will bless and replace what we give sincerely. Lastly, we reflected on ukhuwah, and I realised zakah strengthens unity in the ummah by helping those in need and reducing social gaps. Overall, the session made me feel more aware of my responsibility and the bigger purpose of zakah in building a caring community.
