With credit cards in stores can be tricky, they are often attached to a high interest rate in the instance that you forget to pay, they can rack up charges on interest and that can hurt your credit score in the long run. Stores can charge you when running your credit card because they earn money from your bank when you use your card, as an incentive to have more people use their cards.  Reading the fine print on your credit card application will pull out lots of hidden details and charges that most people miss.
