<title>In Kindergarten through fourth grade, I had a fairly neutral feeling towards school as a whole. During this time period, I started to develop my love for reading, physical activity, and physical education(gym). This was solely because of my gym teacher Mr. Dufore. I made a lot of friends through this phase of schooling as well. Overall, a lot of my happiest memories of school came from this time period. </title>

<title>Middle school was quite the rollercoaster. I had lost a lot of friends from elementary school due to the way that my middle school divided up students. A lot of my friends from elementary school were on team 5D, and I was on team 5A. I ended up making new friends on team 5A which was good, but I also ran into my first experience of bullying as well. </title>

<title>The bullying actually got so severe that I ended up getting stabbed from the corner of my eye down to the side of my cheek with a pencil. This ended up in a law suit with the school district. They wanted to do absolutely nothing to support me during or after this incident. This all happened in 5th grade so knowing that I had 3 more years of middle school that I had to get through absolutely terrified me. </title>

<title>As much as it seemed like being stabbed across the face in 5th grade would be the worst thing that could&#39;ve happened to me in middle school, it was not. In 6th grade my mom ended up getting Ovarian Cancer that was so severe we were told it was going she was going to die. She had developed infections, blood clots in her legs and lungs, and an extremely weak immune system due to the chemotherapy. </title>

<title>Thankfully, God was looking down on her on a random night and the infections healed, the blood clots shrunk, and she&#39;s still going strong to this day. This was something I never could&#39;ve imagined going through as a 13 year old kid. Due to everything that happened in 5th grade,I absolutely hated school. I thought I was about to lose my strongest and most important support system and I still had to get through middle school. </title>

<title>Although it may seem like there was no coming back from an emotional standpoint, based off I&#39;ve just talked about, I was blessed to have two incredible male teachers that got me through everything I was going through. During the time period of my mom&#39;s illness and treatment, my English teacher Mr. Mousa, and Math teacher Mr. Messa looked after me like a son. </title>

<title>They would have me in their room any time I needed to be, regardless if they had a class or not. They also took turns coming to see my baseball games at night to support me out of school as well. Without a doubt, these two incredible people were my sole inspiration for becoming a teacher.</title>

<title>This is more of a personal philosophy for art as a whole. I think I learned that when creating art, I just need to be myself. Trying to create something that doesn&#39;t reflect myself hasn&#39;t ended up going well. As much as I strive for perfection and want to create art like Picasso, I&#39;m not just not Picasso. I came to that realization back in 4th grade and it is actually something that helps me in other aspects of life. Sometimes being true to yourself is more important than perfection.</title>

<title>These are some of the things/activities I would like to have in my classroom. I would like to have a free drawing area for students at recess. If students are not exposed to art or have the opportunity to create art in their free time, how can they fall in love with it? I would like to make use of a self portrait activity where students draw themselves and some of the things that they have interest in, and it will be hung on one of the classroom walls for the school year. </title>
