I'm still confused how saying "by the way" is some offense to Christ? I also wanna know why Mrs. Flowers wants to help Maya start talking again. Chapter 16, Maya's feelings towards Mrs. Cullinan is interesting. The fact she thinks the woman has no organs and isn't the most attractive woman in the bunch is very comedic. She's also annoying and Mary isn't Maya's name but she only calls her that because it's shorter. She's rude and disrespectful.
