Thousands of immigrants from Europe and Asia are moving to the US. They are stealing our jobs as they are willing to work for a lower pay. This is not acceptable! The jobs provided are supposed to be for us Americans not other citizens that are not true Americans. The government should stop letting all the immigrants in by making acts against it. If the government doesn't take action, us true Americans wouldn't be able to get a job!

In the century following the Unification of Italy, nearly 30 million Italians immigrated. Although approximately 10 million returned to Italy, approximately 20 million settled permanently abroad. Most Italians are inpoverated, and some Americans disliked them for stealing their jobs. Italians mostly worked in textile factories, but it still couldn't support their needs.

Chinese immigrants are forging paper sons to fake their information to get into the US. By faking their information they make it seem like they know someone in the US and try to get in US. This is not accepted in Angel Island where they investigate Chinese to cut out illegal immigrants but they are making illegal papers to get in the US. Americans in the country are losing jobs since most Chinese are taking over jobs since people accept lower pay. If this does not stop this would be a problem and affect other Americans lives across the US.

Government officials have found illegal documents. Chinese are trying to get into the US with illegal documents ever since the Chinese Exclusion Act.

Because of the new Chinese Exclusion act, Chinese immigrants can only enter, if they have a parent in the US. "Paper Sons" are fake articles that Chinese immigrants use to pretend to be the son or daughter of a US citizen. Luckily, some of our officials are skilled enough to identify these fake documents. However, a more effective way to identify them has yet to be found.

A further investigation has found that since the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, Chinese "Paper Sons" have increasingly been illegally attempting to enter our proud country, with many succeeding. The population of illegal chinese immigrants are skyrocketing, taking millions of our own citizen's jobs and overcrowding our cities. Luckily, skilled officers are able to quickly identify illegal immigrants. This is not enough. To ensure a safer country without illegal immigrants newer more efficient ways must be found to stem the flow of illegal Chinese coming in.

After years of anticipation, Ellis Island has officially opened! Located on the East Coast in New York Harbor, Ellis Island is planning to become one of the biggest immigration centers of the US. Irish immigrant Annie Moore Schayer was the first immigrant to be processed through Ellis Island earlier today. After travelling through the crammed and unsanitary steerage across the sea, immigrants will face legal and health checks before being admitted into the US. After this long process, they will likely find better jobs and opportunities like the European immigrants did before.

This made lots of Americans upset as they felt like the chinese would take their job and lead to competition for jobs in the cities. This lead to lots of Americans hating chinese, they often harrased them, made fun of them, or even stole money from them. The Americans also had a advantage as they were more respected, and any mistreatments to chinese were not considered breaking a law. The chinese also faced lots problems, they lived in small houses that was overcrowded and were put in horrible conditions with little pay. Therefore Americans hated the chinese and wanted to kick them out of America.

Lots of immigrants have come over to our beloved homeland, inflating the economy by working for a ridiculous amount of low pay. They are taking away our jobs one by one! One might remember the railroads, where the stupid Chinese took away lots of jobs from us to work for longer hours and on a lower payroll. Last night, people finally took action, there was a massacre in China Town at San Francisco, California. We will look forward to when Congress will finally pass a law regarding the ridiculous immigrants, and we might have hope after all.

Bad quality apartments known as tenements. Multiple immigrant families are living in one cramped room. Up to 20 people per room. People are getting sick from disease. Lack of light because of no windows. Horrible living conditions some sleep on the floor. Immigrants who don't have skilled jobs in factories are usually forced to live here due to lack of money. More than 1 million people live in tenements in New York City currently. These conditions are unhabitable but immigrants don't have any choice.

After waiting for many years, the Ellis Island Immigration station finally opens and Immigrants are now allowed to immigrate to America for a better life. Immigrants will travel by steamship in the cramped steerage for about 1-2 weeks. After arriving at Ellis Island, Immigrants will go through physical and health examinations. If anyone is suspected of having any disease, they will be detained. The first and second class were priority. They could have their inspections right away.

Americans were disgusted by the overflow of Chinese immigrants to Angel Island in California during late 1800s and early-mid 1900s. They disliked them, and wanted as little of these people to come as possible. Likely because of their race, religion, and culture. They made various acts that prevented them from coming, and tried restricting them from entering. They think they take their jobs, and are making the streets overcrowded with their faces. So they wanted to kick them out and restrict them from coming in.(Example is Chinese Exclusion Act, which detained them unless they had relationships to American Citizens from before~)

Californians are complaining that the immigrants may impact our economy negatively and take valuable jobs away from American citizens. Hopefully, the new act can successfully stop the overwhelming number of immigrants.
