Earthquakes happen near cracks in the Earth called faults.

What Damage can an Earthquake Cause-
Earthquakes can bend or break roads. Bridges and buildings can fall or crack. Also, it can break pipes full of natural gas and can cause fires. 

Different Ways an Earthquake is measured-
It can be measured by the Richer Scale. The Richer scale is used to measure how much energy that's in the earthquake.
