I started kindergarten in 1969. One memory that really stands out is the “big hill” I’m laughing as I write this because I’m wondering how big it really was. Well anyways, we would make jumps at the bottom in the winter and sledding was the highlight! You would line yourself up just right for the jump and if you were off you could possibly run into the parking lot. Teachers parked there. I must of had this happen to me to have such a vivid memory 🤣.

Hi! My name is Jessica (Kutschman) Chemberlin and I graduate from Adams High School in 2002. I have a lot of good memories from Baldwin, but some of the best were the giant metal slide (no longer there) on the big hill (west side of the playground). We would also sled down the huge hill in the back!

It was really fun to learn. I'm a teacher now and some of the things my teachers did back in the early 1990's I use today with my own students! Oh, and the giant hills were pretty great, too!

My daughter Mia graduated from Baldwin 2017 and my son Ben 2021. I volunteered a lot at Baldwin during Fun Run, I helped create the Yearbook for many years, and represented Germany at international fair. I loved Baldwin, and dearly miss principal Cathy Kochanski. What a talented person she was and a true character and soul - so kind…so fair! She made Baldwin to an amazing place to learn and be. Also shout out to the best art teacher ever: Mrs. Rioux and Music teacher Mrs. Fisher.

H! My name is Aline Saber and I graduated from Adams High School in 1996. I also attended Van Hoosen. I attended Baldwin from 1987-1990. My favorite memory of Baldwin is meeting my best friend, who I am still friends with in third grade. I remember some of my favorite teachers, specifically Mr. Lachowski (4th grade) and playing "giant step" in his class. I loved going down the giant metal slide on the big hill on the playground, it was so much fun!

Both my children attend Baldwin. I also started my teaching career in 2002 teaching 5th grade at Baldwin!

My name is Kathie Perkins and I was blessed to teach music at Baldwin from 1987 through 2009. Baldwin kids and parents are truly the best anywhere, so kind, generous and supportive. My favorite memories are the grade-level programs that I put together with the help of the fabulous teachers there: 1st grade Mother’s Day, 2nd grade Earth Day, 3rd grade Stoney Creek Pioneer Days, 4th grade Michigan History and 5th grade “GoingWest” American history plus so many more. On April 22, 1990, the entire student body spread out in the big field behind Baldwin and sang songs and waved colorful streamers to celebrate Earth Day. Then we planted a little seedling on the corner of Orion Road and Bannister. Today you can drive by and see that giant pine tree out in front of the school!
