The monster is telling Conor a story? Maybe the monster isn't as bad as Conor thinks he is. The monster can transform into any shape he wanted to take form of. The monster/tree helped the prince a long time ago, and saved him from injustice. The monster

Connors life interactions affect him because he is weaker than other people. His fears of the monster make him think he's crazy. With his mom being sick with cancer, he is weaker and sad. He let people do what they wanted. He didn't try to stop Harry when he tried to beat him up.

My prediction to how the monster is going to help coner is he will help conor fix him grandmothers clock that he had broke. I think that he will help him because the clocks time stopped at 12:07, the time the tree/monster comes alive. Also after he had broken the clock, the monster was in his grandmothers kitchen. Therefore, he might fix it.

I think that his grandma acted the way she acted about the whole mess Conor had made because I think she was disappointed, and tired of everything. She had been at the hospital, trying to help his mom through cancer, and try to take care of him, but everything was hard on her and I think she was just tired of dealing with everything. She was also probably disappointed because all her furniture was antique and valuable to her, and she had just lost it all. She probably also didn't expect Coner could do such a thing to here, granted everything she has given him.

At the beginging of the story, readers are informed of the setting, Conors room/grandmas house. The readers also learn about Coners nightmares, that seem very real, Conor has a good relationship with his mom, who is sick. When Conors dream with the monster becomes more realistic, he believes its real life.

Summary of 3rd Tale

Harry is bullying Conor again, and saying that he is invisible, that he is nothing and non-existent to anybody and how everyone pities him. The monster encourages Coner and they both get angry. The monster shouts how he shall be seen, and he starts to hit Harry, breaking his nose and arm. Although it was the monster who was hitting Harry, people who whiteness it, saw Conor hitting him. He gets pitied on by his teachers, and he was excited to get a punishment and not be invisible to them anymore, but they don't give him one because of his situation. His classmates see him now, he is not invisible anymore, but everyone is scared.

Each tale embodies Conors experiences because in the second tale when the parson was only nice to the apothecary when he needed him to save his daughters and that relates Conor because when his dad came, he only came for a few days because Conors mom was sick, and didn't have a want to see Conor until then. He wanted to come visit when something important happened, like the parson only was nice when he needed the yew tree from the apothecary. Another way the tales effect Conors experiences is because in the third tale when Conor and the "monster" beat up Harry after he told him that he no longer sees him, and that affects Conors experiences because he has kept in his anger and hatred towards Harry, and the monster knows this and he told Conor a story of when he helped someone be seen, and Conor was tired of going unseen and unnoticed by people and the monster helped him end that by beating up Harry, making sure everyone would see him.

The movie is meeting/not meeting expectations because some things are different and similar. One thing that I noticed was different was in the beginning of the book Conors mom was very sick and week, and in the book she did not seem as ill as the book made her out to be like. One thing that is similar is when all Conors nightmares took place at his house like it was in the book. Another thing that was different was in the book we didn't know what his nightmares were until the very end of the book, whereas in the movie we found out right away what pretty much the nightmares were about.

One character I would add was I would add Lily. I would add her because she was an important part of the story and she was the one who told people that Conors mom was sick. Also towards the end she was the only person who was willing to be Conors friend and wanted to help him. She should have been added to give reasoning to why teachers and students didn't really notice Coner, felt bad for him, and giving him punishments, because that was also a big impact on the story.
