The British Film Industry was doing a study on young aspiring film makers to increase exposure on the film industry as it was radidly growing with over 395 new film production companies founded between the years of 2017 and 2018. The shortages of skilled professionals in the field wouldn't be able to keep up with the expansions. I found this source a useful article to back up my ideas on exposing the film industry to encourage young people to get involved.

For example, in late 2015, Todd Sampson, television personality and non-executive Chairman of leading communications company Leo Burnett Australia, received criticism for the company’s appointment of an all-male, all-White, all similarly aged creative team. Such exclusionary practices are seen as especially strong in media industries, including and notably film, digital content production and television. This has clear implications for a lack of diversity of stories and voices, even within a market with strong state-supported broadcasting.

The quote above is taken from my third scholarly source. Although the statement above lacks evidence that this occurs in every creative team. It opens up a conversation about diversity in the film industry.

The screen will fade from black. Slow motion cinematic shots of the university’s television set will show. A dolly moving shot from behind the cameraman will move to reveal the show being shot in front of camera. Music filled with base creating a build-up will play underneath the shots. Intense colour will be considered during colour grading. Cuts from the television studio slow motion shots to an interview shot with Malcolm Haslett in the same studio. The key questions I would have asked him is does he think young women need to get more involved with the film industry? How can we encourage more people to join us? His answers will be vague, but the idea is to use someone who’s been in the television industry for over 50 years as recognition. The shots will be short, sharp and very professional. Intense, fun music will increase in volume and be used to build tension and excitement. It will cut from the interview to more speed up shots of students using the camera’s and wearing headsets. 3 to 4 students will be stood around the NX3 cameras. They will be laughing as 1 student shows them how to work the camera. The footage fades to the call-to-action slide. This is where information about how to get involved will be showed.
