It’s important to have a conversation every year at the IEP meeting about what the LRE for that particular student is. You can’t decide what the LRE is before you have a conversation about it at the IEP meeting.

It's really important to think about, not only how the presence of the student with a disability might effect other students, but how other students might effect the student with the disability. Even if they are in a self-contained program, it's still really important to ensure that the students have time to be around students of the same age who are in a general education enviornment.
