He was very well known for the stories and poems he had written in the 1840s. The main genres he wrote were horror fiction, adventure, science fiction, and detective fiction. The top three most famous poems that he created were "The Raven," "Annabel  The  and "To Helen." which are very interesting.

When he was a little kid, his father left and his mother died, which forced him to go into adoption, Poe went to live with John and Frances Allan, a successful tobacco merchant and his wife, in Richmond, Virginia. When he was 17, he attended UVA, but money was an issue and he couldn't cover his costs. So Poe turned to gambling but ended up in debt. He also joined the ARMY with a different identity, but when he came back, his adoptive mother died from tuberculosis. Poe married his cousin Virginia when she was 13 and he was 27. Poe rarely wrote other genres too, like love stories and comedies. Edgar Allan Poe's death was a mystery and still is; there are different theories of how it could've happened.

And this is believed because Poe had different clothing, was agonizing, and was in a different city.
