The nationalism and optimism that soldiers felt at the beginning of the war is gone, and the horrors of fighting other young men who are just like you from mucky trenches sets in. Otto Dix was a soldier in WWI. He spent three years at the front and made drawings as battles were going on around him. After the war, he tried to paint the memories out of him, bringing his experiences and nightmares to life.   • Army: Germany must reduce its military drastically.

  • Germany lost land: Territories to France and Great Britain, Alsace and Lorraine to France, Rhineland occupied, and loss of lands to Poland. 
  • League of Nations - is created to give countries self-determination (at least European nations).
  • Extra (because there needed to be an E) which stands for Germany being banned for dealings with Austria.
