The movement was then temporarily put on hold when the great war came along and they had to focus on helping their country. It wasn't until after WW1 that their voices were finally being heard and the 19th amendment was passed. The amendment allowed women to have the ability to vote. More than a million Americans, a lot being inexperienced, fought in France against the Germans. With American support the Allies won the Argonne forest territory of France. This battle was a important point in WW1 because it was the last battle the US fought in the Hundred Day Offensive.
