I plan on collaborating with regular ed teachers more to offer strategies as to how to best support emerging ELs with challenging passages/projects/presentations, yet keeping the rigor and expectations high. My first year teaching ELL I had two students, AMY and BILLY from Taiwan and it made me crazy to use those names that a teacher had given to them!!!
