Today's US government is an accumulation of centuries of evolving thought on what government should be and do. For example, we still use the Declaration of Independence, although we modified it its still something we use. We also still implement the baron of Montesquieu, English bill of rights, and the mayflower compact. With this evidence it shows that we still use these same tactics to this day in the criminal justice system and also in our daily lives. Without these influences from these documents, our country wouldn't have the respect for their citizens that they do today, we wouldn't have the same freedoms, and so this is why they are so important to our US government.
