From these traits representing sensitivity, we can see a clear link between it and introversion. As the sensitive ones usually react to a greater degree compared to others, their reflections and rich thoughts helped them to develop deeper insights on events happening around them. They might have a million new ideas and opinions on things that happened, even in the most ordinary day in their lives. This explains why many introverts, being sensitive, prefer to rather dive into quiet hours of writing journal, self-reflection, or thinking on topics like “when will the Earth explode” since their intuitive mind pushes them to generate new inspirations about everything. Moreover, as sensitive ones subconsciously notice and reflect on facial expressions or actions of people listening to them talking, they get hurt more often in socializing. Constantly caring about what others think about them make sensitive people to escape socializing. In many ways, sensitivity explains the typical introvert traits.

Let’s look back in the modern U.S. history. Franklin Roosevelt was elected America’s president in 1933, the height of Great Depression. Although FDR was remembered by people to lead the country out of poverty, it was his wife Eleanor who, driven by her deep empathy for the starving ones, boosted up the country’s confidence. In three months she covered 40000 miles just to listen to ordinary people telling about their troubles. It was her actively learned about suffering of African-Americans and women as a whole, encouraging programs to take place. It was her who told FDR the truth about how impoverished people were dying in unseen corners. It was her who pressed him into actions.

So, the so-called “sensitive” introverts who were often looked down within our society, should not be shaken by these invalid comments. Only the existence of introverts proves how they are necessary for our Earth to spin. Unleash the power within.
