i will redesign the job to more heavily emphasize each of the four approaches used in job design. First is on motivational where the cashier should understand more about the knowledge of the prices of foods. Next is mechanistic where the cashier should bring a new worker to be trained to perform a job quickly. Other than that, is biological where by adjusting the cashier's work by having a computer machine on the counter replacing the calculator which is more easier and faster to use to calculate the bills of the customers' orders. Last is perceptual-motor where manage to get the money in order correctly as per the menu without having any clashes on financial .

In the context of the total work-flow process of the restaurant, how would you redesign the job to more heavily emphasize each of the other approaches. Students' answers will vary. All of the approaches could be used to design the cashier's job. To redesign the job to emphasize the mechanistic approach, students should discuss concepts such as more specialization. To redesign the job to emphasize the motivational approach, students should discuss making the job more complex. To redesign the job to emphasize the biological approach, students should discuss adjusting or making changes in the equipment or job environment. To redesign the job to emphasize the perceptual/motor approach, students should discuss ways to make the job less demanding mentally.

To redesign the job to emphasize the mechanistic approach, it can increase cashier’s specialization for their job perform. To redesign the job to emphasize the motivational approach, making the job more complex to let them get a higher job satisfaction and higher motivation. To redesign the job to emphasize the biological approach, it can be adjusting or making changes in the equipment or job environment to reduce the number and severity of cumulative trauma disorders. To redesign the job to emphasize the perceptual/motor approach, it can design job in a way that ensures that they do not exceed cashier’s mental capability to make the job less demanding mentally.
