How does the way media portrays climate change create our perception?

Research and analyze how buzz words such as sustainability are used throughout media 

The impact our work itself could have on the environment

Further discussed our theme and the direction we wanted to go for our work

This discussion led to the idea of using a torso to symbolize the responsibility humans need to carry

Alma suggested that we incorporate lightning scars in the torso details to depict the impact on humans.

• Alma being a textile major thought she could use threads in order to create the scar imagery

Wanted to have both 2d and 3d elements in our work

• Came with the idea of doing a projection onto the back

• Projection shows the climate change caused natural damages

If the 3d printing doesn’t work or plaster —> performance?

Think of plan B for the stuff we don't know for sure will work

How does the piece make someone feel > how does the message convey

Why that specific body we used (why a man, why pose, why material, why …)

having issues with the 3d print was originally going to print last weekend but has been delayed

at the moment it is planned to be printed by the end of this week (12/1) but we discussed a backup plan in case the 3d printing does not work

the print turned out successful and I went to pick it up from the Camberwell print shop

Cas says he will sand down the torso and do some adjustments over this weekend

during last weekend started to work on a loop animation that is going to be layered above the news videos.

I also learned how to use procreates new animation app, "Procreate Dreams"

• I usually use procreate for simple animation however, the functions on it is very limited

• Procreate Dreams allowed for more flexibility

Objective: simplicity, avoiding distraction from the main video while adding a subtle touch.

Purpose to to convey a sense of hope for a future of environmental recovery, particularly in a world flooded with overwhelming information.

Opting for an unrealistic style to emphasize the hopeful nature, I chose to portray a sprout sprouting, spreading, and growing. This symbolic imagery aimed to represent the next generation reaching out to new possibilities.
