         <title>  ENGLISH IN OUR SCHOOL</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For years, the school has been an advocate for the use of Foreign Languages in functional approaches.</div><div> </div><div>Currently, our students access the English Language in all the school years. In infants the students learn through a playful and meaninful manner based on daily routines. The<em> English In Motion projec</em>t was started in 2011 in primary stage and<em> then Let's Have Fun,</em> in which the use of the oral language was prioritized to reinforce the communcative abilities of the students in divided classes, enabling smaller group learning. </div><div> </div><div>In 2013-14 we launched<em> Science In English</em>, where we used the CLIL methodology. Through this we managed to extend pupil exposure to the foreign language with weekly sessions for the students of 5th (Upper Cycle). At present the project has also been extended to 1st and 3rd of Primary. </div><div> </div><div>It is important to note that the English department of the school and the Ribera Baixa institute also maintain regular meetings where, as well as creating a methodological line, participate jointly in the <em>Sharing To Learn</em> project, where students from the institute act as <em>Language Assistants</em> to students in primary in a shared learning experience.</div><div> </div><div>As a school within the Intersections program provided and promoted by the Town Council Of El Prat and within the field of foreign languages, we also participate in the English Laboratory, where the idea is that English is promoted throughout the community. </div>]]></description>

         <title>REFLECTIONS (SUSANA)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As has been mentioned in the introduction of our school, we have been implementing this methodology for several years, but it is good that, as teachers, change our points of view increasing new strategies and new ways to teach. </div><div>We started last year with GEP 1 and we learned a lot of things about cooperative activities. This year we have completed this trip because we have to think about a good “driving question” and which contents and objectives we want to achieve; furthermore, we deliberate about the different assessments (self, peer, and teacher assessment) during the process. So, we have to be open-minded to think big and do not limit their final products. This new way to think was a little bit difficult for us but when we had the key, it was faster.</div><div><br></div><div>In this way, they can discover a real experience and they are very motivated. It is a pity that we could not carry it out because we want to develop their responsibility and their desire to do it well. Our main aim is to develop their critical thinking abilities from a proposal from an Irish school. This year it couldn't go ahead, but it will be postponed for next year. We are in touch with Ireland!</div>]]></description>
