Once upon a time in the 1753, in Venice there lives a man named Giacomo Casanova who is notorious for being a womanizer, so notorious that he is on the church's "hit list." One day he was chased by an authority after sleeping with a nun and find himself being in a hall where he saw Francesca cross dressing as a man introducing her invention, hot air balloon. The Doge then warned Casanova that he should marry a good woman and stop causing ruckus. He then decided to marry Victoria, a virgin who lust for Casanova.

Casanova find himself falling in love with Francesca and wants to be loved back.
Casanova's second encounter with Francesca is when she poses as her brother, Giovani.
When Casanova meets her, he is instantly attracted. But, Francesca is engaged to a rich older man named Paprizzio. Casanova then poses as Paprizzio, "locking up" the real Paprizzio in his house. He was first challenged by Francesca's great disinterest in him but he then finds himself falling in love with Francesca who turns out to be a illegal feminist books writer under the name of a man, Bernardo Guardi. (The fact that a feminist book was published especially it being illegal shows that there is gender conflict and gender inequality at that time(conflict theory))

Casanova was then brought to court after claiming himself as Bernardo Guardi, Protecting Francesca. Francesca who was posing as a man then reveals herself as Bernardo Guardi. They both was then sentenced to death. When the death penalty was about to be done, Casanova's parents who was posing as a cardinal then announces all sentenced to death will be freed for it is the pope's birthday.
