I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2014. During my undergrad, I was a Peer Mentor for students in the residential hall. As a Peer Mentor, I coached students in the MLF Teachers College. I planned and executed events for the residents, which were for entertainment, education, and social benefits.
Being theoretically motivated, I want to constantly be learning. Education is highly important to me, and I hope to be a life-long learner. From 2014-2016 I was a seventh grade English teacher for the Kyrene School District. I taught intervention courses, advanced courses, and enrichment courses. Teaching was an important experience for me, and it has defined my life in many ways. Forever I will have a connection to bettering the ways that we as a society educate our youth.  Being a Peer Mentor in the past, I developed a love for higher education. I knew that I wanted to get back into the higher education atmosphere, and working for Arizona State was always a goal of mine.  Currently, I am a Student Success Coach for online Arizona State University students. I am ecstatic that I made the transition to higher education, as this has been my goal for a few years. As a coach, I am able to support students with whatever they may need, interact with new educational technologies, and expand my knowledge of the online learning field. I was born in Orange, California, but I have also lived in: Salem, Oregon, Naperville, Illinois, Goodyear, AZ, Delta, Colorado, and finally moved to Tempe, Arizona. My family has no military connection, but we moved as much as a family who does! In my personal life, I enjoy going to the movies, listening to music, collecting vinyl records, attending concerts, finding new coffee shops, and practicing photography. I recently started an Instagram account, IG: groundsforgrads, where I share my coffee photography and review coffee shops around the valley! Feel free to follow that account if you're interested in coffee, photography, or great places to check out around Arizona. The last concerts I attended were CHVRCHES, Phantogram, and Brand New. I frequent Downtown Phoenix, where I enjoy discovering new bands at Crescent Ballroom and Valley Bar.  The last movie I watched was La La Land, winner of seven Golden Globe awards! My goals for 2017 are to develop my knowledge about coffee, attend more concerts, and take more pictures!
