Isaac

In my opinion both of options are very bad for him, he is a very smart guy on school with a bright figure and he doesnt need his parents, he has accomplish things without the suport of his parents.

First his dad, he hasnt been able to educate his son, even tought he is in a very complicated situation he is an absent father.

The only thing that he has done for his son is to not abandoned him, but still he doest care that much about his sons problems and condition.

A very bad thing about the that is that he doesnt have control over his emotions, he killed a dog just because he was angry so thats not very good for Christopher

Now lets talk about Christophers mom, first she abandoned his son and his husband just for a fantasy and delirium, she for the streets. She left because her relation with his husband was dysfunctional, but that was not the move, she should have divorce and then visit or be with Christophers on some days.

And the worst thing is that she is so impulsive, she plays the victim on every situation and then explodes, she even offends Christopher. She for the streets.

So in my humble opinion Christopher is capable to take care of his own, but if I had to choose between mom and dad, I would say dad, because he stay with his son even thought he was passing true dark times.

With his mother. By Alejandro

I think the best option for Christopher would be to stay with his mother, I think this is because his mother always loved him from the beginning and ran away because she had problems with Christopher's father, it would be a better environment for her son, I think if he goes to his mother his mother will take care of him in a much more friendly way for his mental health, compared to his father, who has several problems with himself.

The pros and cons of his mom would be that she would take care of him and provide for Christopher giving him a relatively normal life, the cons would be that he would be with his stepfather who he doesn't know, another would be that maybe his mom would pay more attention to the boyfriend than to her son, although I think it would be difficult at first but as time goes by Christopher will feel more comfortable living with her.

On the other hand if he lived with his father I think he would continue living in an environment of lies, we have already seen that he does not have the tact or the manners to treat a child of Christopher's condition and it would be much better for him to get away from that toxic environment.

Diego Milla

To know with who should be Cristopher is very difficult mainly because both of the parents aren´t good parents and both of them arent prepared to take care of a child. We can see this with the actions of both of them, the father with anger issues which deal him to kill the dog and the mother leaving her family and going to another country with another person. I should say it would be better that Cristopher were without his parents and he should be adopted, also Cristopher is a very intelligent person and capable of doing anything he proposes. If I should choose one of them i will say that it is better for him to stay with his father mainly because he cares a little about him and also could work and understnand his child and by that he would want the best for him, the only thing that i would say that is very bad is that he is a liar and the anger issues.

Diego Azcona

I think it is better for Chris to stay with his father since being abandoned by his mother it is obvious that she will not know what he likes and what he does not and most likely is not aware of the syndrome that Christ suffers from, these actions make that Christ's Father is the best option to take care of him, even though his father does not think before acting and even though his intentions are good, most of the time his actions show the opposite or do not show that he wants to do good for him. son for the most part, other reasons why his father is a better option is because he did not go with someone else and abandon his family, although it is also true that neither of them are a good option for Christ since both They have their problems that mostly affect Christ but if you have to choose who he should stay with, the most suitable would be his father since he is the one he has stayed with most of his life.

Hassan

From my point of view, Christopher needs to live in a place that is suitable for him, taking into account that it should be clean and safe, but more importantly, that the person he is staying with should love him and take him into account in the decisions he makes.

Cristopher has only two options living with his father living with his mother but I prefer him to live with his father, since his mother does not give me a good feeling because she used to hit Cristopher and used to say rude things to him, besides she does not give me a good feeling because she abandoned him leaving him at his father's disposition. I prefer Christopher to live with his father because he loves him in spite of the difficulties he presents, and also because his father presents a behavior and a willingness to adapt to the way Christopher sees the world.

I think Chris should be in shared custody with both his father and mother, so maybe a middle stance between both. Chris should be, as done at the end of the book, some days with his father and some days with his mother. This way, his upbringing will not be passed on to someone unrelated, like Mrs. Alexander or Chris’ uncle, and Chris will also be able to see the world through both his dad’s and mom’s perspective. This might be a hassle though, because Chris refuses completely to be with his father. I think that, even if Chris’s father has done some horrible things, such as killing Wellington or lying about his wife’s whereabouts, he should still have the opportunity to redeem himself and try his best to get along with Christopher. I believe this mainly because his father, as stated in the book, is the one that has cared most about Chris, and has tried very hardly to understand him and do good for him.

On the other hand, I believe Christopher should stay with his mother too because it is important for him to have a motherly figure, and, even if his mother “abandoned” him in some sense, she still cared about him and felt impotent when she found herself unable to be helpful in some manner to Chris.

The benefits of Chris being in a shared custody is, as said above, that he will be able to fix bonds with both of his parents, that he will be more open to both perspectives, and that he won't be relayed on to another person. Some of the cons may be that, given Chris’ past acts, he might be uncomfortable with constant environment changes and being with his father, so he might try to run away or enclose himself

JUAN CARLOS TORRES LÓPEZ

Christopher should become adopted by another family because none of his parents have shown to be really prepared to provide a good parenting model.

Starting with his mother, the author implied that she was expecting too much of a relationship, that it would be perfect, easy to maintain, live in a wonderful farm in France, have a handsome and caring husband: a perfect life. None of these expectations are bad, on the contrary, they are too good to be truth; in this way, she had to be prepared to face reality because it is commonly harder than we expected, so she had to be able to cope enough to be able to take care of an autistic kid that might portray abnormal behaviors. Her mistake is when she was offered the opportunity of an easier and more intense life by her neighbor, which she accepted, leaving behind Christopher and her previous husband. Let’s consider that it is difficult to take care of Christopher, yet we are considering this topic from the point of view of Christopher, so she could have done much better; as well, it is said during the book that she was a very impulsive person that smokes very often.

Regarding his dad, he would be a good parent because he takes care of his son, except for the fact that he can get really really mad. Several times he screams aggressively and punches the table, which is not an appropriate behavior to show to kids. One time, he grabbed Christopher by the neck really hard and almost punched him; he hid Christopher's mom's letter; he drinks very often, and he killed Wellington. The fact that he killed a dog for being mad with a potential partner means that he can’t control his emotions when they come to an extreme. It reminds me of the people that say that “everything is fine unless you make me angry”, showing that he is unable to take care of Christopher.

In conclusion, we can say that Christopher could go to an orphanage or live with more mentally stable people

Maria jose, Diego Rojas, Rodrigo burgoa y María Teresa

The curious incident of the midnight dog follows the difficult situation of Christopher, a young man with special powers, who faces the choice between living with his mother or father. Both have pros and cons to consider. Below are some important aspects:

Living with a mother:

Advantage:

1. Emotional support: Christopher's mother is an understanding and affectionate person, always supporting him emotionally in difficult times. 2. Stability. Your mother has a stable daily schedule and can provide you with a safe and predictable environment. 3. Emotional attachment: Christopher has a strong bond with his mother and may feel more comfortable and connected to her when he lives with her. Defects:

1. Time limit. It is possible that Christopher's mother has a very busy agenda, which can limit the time they spend together. 2. Lack of independence. Living with his mother can mean that Christopher depends more on her to make decisions and perform daily tasks. I live with my father:

Advantage:

1. Freedom and independence. Living with your dad can help you be more independent and able to make your own decisions. 2. Common interests: His father has many of the same interests as Christopher, which could generate a deeper bond and understanding. 3. Flexibility in time. It is possible that your father has a more flexible schedule so that you can spend more time together. Defects:

1. Less stable. Your life situation with your father may be less stable than your mother's situation. 2. Less emotional support. It may be difficult for his father to understand Christopher's emotional needs due to his own points of view and life experiences. Ultimately, the best option for Christopher to live with any of his parents will depend on his circumstances and what is best for his personal development and emotional well-being. It is important that, whatever choice you make, you are provided with an environment full of love, understanding and care.

Zara, Xime, Cami

We think that Christopher should stay with his mother since his father is a murderer. Christopher in the book, lives with his father, and they do not have a good relationship since Christopher has autistic syndrome, Asperger, this creates a problem in the relationship of both since the father does not generate a good coexistence with his son being his own father, and even with neighbors, Christopher demonstrates to have better communication with them. Christopher's father shows violent, angry behaviors, which could affect Christopher's mental health, his home is not a safe or healthy environment, which could lead him to kill his own son. That is why we believe that Christopher's best option is to live with his mother because even though she abandoned him, she had reasons to do so, which were her husband's outbursts of anger and that he wanted someone else, also maternal instinct. since the maternal instinct that develops during pregnancy would help to understand and protect her child who would care for and protect him better than his father.

Emiliano and Mauricio 🫡

We think that perhaps neither of the parents are good for Christopher, however, he should not live only with his father or mother individually, thanks to the fact that he needs both of the father figures to grow properly.

Following that idea, I perceive that the benefits of having a shared custody are the following ones:

1.- He will not have mental or psychological problems in the future, so that he can communicate, share his feelings with the people he wants and not to experience the issues that he has in this book.

2.- He can enjoy having the company of his father and mother, so that he can experience happiness in his life and not to be a moody kid.

3.-He has the access to both his father and mother life experiences, so he will not be only focused in one perspective of the world and he can grow as a person.

4.-Both of his parents will have the custody of the kid so they also will experience happiness.

However, in this idea of the share custody, you can found benefits and disadvantages, so here are some of the disadvantages that Christ and his parents can experience:

1.- Perhaps he will travel much between countries, so that he will change friends, schools, comfort states, etc.

2.- His parents will communicate again so that Christ will have to endure with the consecuences of that action.

3.- Finally, maybe Christ will not forgive his father for killing Wellington and lying to him, so possibly this plan can be accomplished.

Renata y Katia

We believe that throughout the story Christopher suffers from his father's deception and his mother's abandonment. Therefore we believe that it would be best if both parents had been present during Christopher's childhood so that he would not have developed autism. Furthermore, we believe that the mother should have been sincere with the father and not have a lover. Seeing both perspectives, Christopher's father hid the abandonment of Christopher's mother, saying that she had died, in order not to hurt his son. However, on the other hand, the mother decided to abandon Christopher being aware of the possible harm that could be caused to him, she made the best decision thinking about herself but not about her son Christopher.

Diana (Ft. Cielo)

Christopher is a child who throughout the book we have proven has autism, therefore, he has certain special needs and behaviors. This is why I believe that Christopher should stay with his father, because he has been and lived with Christopher forever, therefore he knows his needs and limitations better than his mother. On the other hand, more attention is shown on the part of her father than on her mother, since when she left she did not show much resentment or intentions of returning to solve things.

While it is true that both have harmed Christopher both physically and mentally when they are angry, his mother is a person with less patience and therefore explodes easily and on the other hand his father is more patient and only resorts to this damage when necessary. o Christopher has not heeded despite the warnings.

And finally it is shown that the perspectives of the two parents are too different to be able to agree, since one wanted to be at peace and his mother had hopes of traveling and having a life that was too good for Christopher to be in it and if this will stay with his father even if he had to maintain and endure the idea that his father killed Wellintong out of resentment.

Therefore these are the reasons why Christopher should stay with his father but continue to maintain a healthy relationship with his mother.

Maximiliano

I think that Christopher must have gone with his father since the father figure is always very important for children who are men, since he teaches them to have a stronger character, to support a family, and to do hard work. of the house, however I understand that he has gone with his mother since she has become more attached to him, and children almost always see the maternal figure as a place of refuge
