I am concerned that technology might be too distracting for my students. Especially, when I can not monitor them all individually at the same time.

Discerning students that need re-direction more often and standing near them helps. I have tried walking the room constantly, sitting at a different random computers, and having a seat separation between group members to foster more focus on the lesson.

Hello Lauren, I think technology can be distracting but I think that it is all about managing what is allowed and make sure the class stays on track. I think technology can be very beneficial.

I had that concern too. A lot of it seems to boil down to how things are getting used, but the best way to keep kids on track and engaged seems to be putting them in groups to hold each other accountable, and keeping track of who needs that extra bit of supervision to do some micromanagement when needed.
