To further explain why I chose Uses and Gratifications Theory, this is because, from what I observed, Filipinos have this ideal image of South Korean Culture that, when we involve ourselves in their culture, we have this sense of fulfillment. Because it is "new" to us and out of the ordinary, it sort of fulfill our wants and needs. Another one would be that because it’s really entertaining, it became our source of distraction, which is why we find pleasure in involving ourselves to their culture. To sum it up, the Uses and Gratifications Theory explains why South Korean culture’s influence on Filipinos has made massive changes to different aspects of our own culture. From there, it shows that South Korean culture plays a significant part in our culture as well.
