During the presidential election of 1800, John Adams lost his second term making Thomas Jefferson president and before Jefferson came to office, Adams was taking commissions for everyone who send one and William Marbury was one of them. Marbury did not get his commission before Jefferson was in office and President Jefferson ordered James Madison to not send the commission so Manbury issued this as it not being allowed and went into court with it and the court decided to give Marbury his commission and it created the judicial review.

     Homer Plessy sat in the White section of a train when he was one- eighth African American and when he was told to move, he refused so he was arrested for violating the Separate Car Act. It strengthened segregation through public service in the US, Jim Crow Laws rose including terror groups like the KKK, less rights to African Americans, gave them less opportunitues and limited their education, and increased the separation of color. 

The Panama Canal is a waterway connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and was created by the US to have a easier way to ship goods. It was used for trade and allowed ships to pay less and take less time to transport materials.

After the great success in the 1920's, many people invested their money in the stock market and placed their money in banks until the stock market crashed. Majority of people had little to no money and people didn't have job and some became homeless.

During the Cold War, there was competition between the Soviet Union and the United States and one of the competitions was who could go to space first. The United States won this competition and successfully got Neil Armstrong to be the first man on the moon.

     African American students were not allowed to attend school because of their color and it violated the 14th amendment and their rights. Stopped the segregation in schools, gave civil rights to colored people, gave higher education and more opportunities for them
