While in the hallway, you notice that your intern is exchanging chairs with another office to provide a chair with no arm rests for a client/caregiver with a larger body composition. You notice that while this is taking place, the client/caregiver is standing in the hallway waiting. Would you address this situation with your student? Why and how would you do so? What messages/concepts would you like to address/convey?

Your assessment trainee is seeing a Spanish-speaking client who immigrated from Nicaragua 5 months ago with her young son, but was forced to leave without her husband. The referral question is a rule-out of depression. The trainee recognized that language will be a barrier to implementing the assessment but is unsure what other issues to assess for or consider. How would you begin to help your trainee?
