What are your expectations of this class? My expectations of this class is to just be more comfortable with my knowledge of the government and the politics it brings with it. Because I can vote this year I am trying expand my knowledge so I can make an educated vote this year in the election. I also want to expand my thoughts on people different views regarding our country and others. My expectation of this class is to like learning about our government more. I hope that this class makes learning about or government and history fun again.

Describe your level of interest in the presidential election. Do you know yet who you would/will vote for and if so, what was important in making your choice? If not, what are you waiting to find out? I am very interested in the presidential election because, I am going to partake in it this year. I have a good idea on who I am going to vote for but, I feel as though I am not educated enough on everything they would like to do in our government. I am still waiting to see who I think could change our country around to make it better. But when making choice very important aspects of it are what their views are on equality across the board, immigration, taxes, terror, jobs and how they would interact with other countries. Other things I have looked into is their records of their jobs they have performed and if I and other people believe they have to done their job up to par.

I found it interesting that even though the women had different views politically they got along and helped each other to get women rights. I also found it very strange that even though both women graduated top of their class they were not able to receive jobs. Also that they were even looked upon badly because, they succeeded.

1. Reading or watching?
I found the declaration if Independence to hold more meaning to me when it was read. The word choice and the patriotism that it showcases is something that you can not get from just reading in your head. The declaration also showcases its readability in the sense that back then that's about the only way it got around was by word of mouth.
2. Favorite part?
My favorite part of the declaration of Independence has to be the list pf grievances because, I think it showcases that we have a nation experienced these things and do not want to repeat it. By having the wrongdoings all put down it's harder for people to go back and not be able to realize how wrong the king was.

Flag Burning 10/4/16

I do support making flag burning unconstitutional. I support this idea because, i feel that there are better ways to show how you feel than burning the flag. Burning the flag I feel is very disrespectful to those who fight for us in the military and the other people in the country. although I don't think that the people who do burn the flag have bad intentions they just have a more extreme way of trying to get what the feel is wrong in America out.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington 10/26

The movie shows that there is political machines like James Taylor that are still in our world today. We nee more people like Mr. Smith that will fight for the small guys. These political machine can run anything from our newspaper to who is elected for senators. In Illinois we have had many crooked governors that were not controlled by a James Taylor but, were a James Taylor. They used their position to get wealth and to live a life in luxury. Many people will say that Illinois is one of the most corrupt political place in the U.S. We Need a Mr. Smith and I know many other state probably need one to and this move showcased what a Mr. Smith does in Congress. We have had many people that are our Mr. smiths and I hope our congress one day will be filled with Mr. Smiths.

I think Mr. Smith if he was in today's society would be comparable to many of the judges we have in the supreme court. In that they stand by the constitution with everything they have. Mr. Smith would defiantly be apart of our political party and I think her would be loved by many and hated by the greedy. He would probably at some point run by president and win. I think he would change our country into something much greater than whatever Hillary or Trump could do. I don't think Smith would fall into the trap that most politicians fall into. I think as president he would help not just the poor but, the middle class and even at sometimes the rich.

Mr. smith can be comparable to Rodney Davis in that Rodney is somebody that is well liked in Tayolorville at least. Rodney came from a family that started out having a McDonald and are now living comfortably. Mr. Smith seems to be the type that has had to work for what he has. Although Rodney could be comparable that way from my parents views I can see that Rodney tries to keep the people best interest at heart but, may not be bale to do it complete because, most politicians are a little greedy. Although Rodney is a little greedy he still tries to stand up for what he believes in just like Mr. smith.Rodney host night for students to learn more about the government and nature and I think that is very similar to Mr. smith's ideals. Also Rodney also is thoughtful of nature.

https://rodneydavis.house.gov/
