Proper writing to me is using the proper or formal language without having any slang or words that are not considered "proper." A place where academic writing would take place are in school such as when assigned to write essays. Another place where academic writing would take place is in a professional job such as in the medical field or the law field.

I see academic writing used for a classroom environment where you are trying to prove an argument or back up someone else's with evidence.

When I hear the term "academic writing" my first thought of what "academic writing" is, would be professional writing or a form proper writing all dependent to what, where, or who the writer is writing it for, may it be either a professional or proper atmosphere. Within "academic writing" ideas, thoughts, and opinions are perfectly written and detailed with no mistakes to be seen or pointed out. "Academic writing" may be seen in school assignments, public notations, and in statements. Overall, "academic writing" is achievable by anyone, who is willing to put in the work of revising and rereading their writing plenty of times making a new version of the written piece each time, much cleaner in terms of mistakes. Until the writer finally cannot point out or see any mistakes in their paper.
