COSHH is the law that employers are required to control the substances hazardous to health. The law has been followed since 2002. You can keep workers safe by doing a number of things including risk assessments, identifying hazardous products and controlling exposure to them. Planning for emergencies and keeping a health record of employees this might include annual checks. Training is also very important as if workers are taught how to be safe they will be much more aware of hazards. COSHH applies to everyone even if you are self employed without any employees the law still applies apart from health surveillance. ANGUS ROWE
