Mapping existing PA programs to theories by

Working in small groups, map two existing PA programs to theories and communicate your findings to the class. Answer these questions: 1. Who is this program appealing to? (eg Any particular Stage of Change group?)
2. What behaviour change techniques are being employed? (ie look at Behaviour Change Wheel)
3. Which theories best relate to this program?
4. Are there any problematic parts of the program? Use theory to explain why.
5. Are there any very innovative/ effective parts of the program?
Use theory to explain why they might be effective.
6. Are there any theoretical strategies in place to encourage long‐term PA behaviour?

From the report we can see that there are increasing rates of inactive children suggesting that there is a decrease in motivation for exercise and physical activity. Moving both children and parents from Amotivation and controlled motivation to autonomous motivation through incentives. Incentives such as increasing exercise and physical activity, building friendships and having fun are all motivational factors that can influence children whereas saving money, reducing pressure and healthier children are motivational factors for parents.
